If you believe that more children need the guidance and support of caring adults in their lives, your voice can make difference. The Memphis Mentoring Partnership is forming a grassroots network of mentoring supporters to advocate for public policy initiatives. It's a local emphasis on the national advocacy movement.
What will Advocacy Network members do?
Advocacy Network members will be trained in advocacy techniques and strategies and will receive regular updates on the state of mentoring in Memphis/Shelby County, the latest research on the benefits of mentoring, and trends in mentoring programs across the country. Training will be on-going. Read a great Mentoring Advocacy article from the Commercial Appeal here. The
time commitment is small, but
the benefit for our young people will be great. For
more information about how to get involved, contact
the Memphis Mentoring Partnership at 523-2425 or e-mail Alayne Shoenfeld at ashoenfeld@volunteermemphis.org. This project is made possible by a grant from MENTOR/The National Mentoring Partnership |
