THE EXPERIENCE: BE A MENTOR
What
every kid needs is an adult that remembers being a kid. That’s what
mentoring is all about. You
don't need a fancy degree. You
just need to be yourself, and share who you are.
It’s really
that easy. And chances are if
you put a little time in, you're both going to get a lot out if it.
So be a mentor and share the experience.

The
Memphis Mentoring Partnership (MMP), coordinated by Volunteer

leaders, and dedicated volunteers that supports and promotes responsible
youth mentoring initiatives throughout the city of Memphis and Shelby
County.
Become
an Advocate for Mentoring!
It's important and very easy to do.
Congratulations
to our MMP members!
Memphis
Mentoring Partnership members were big winners at the annual Spirit of
Giving Awards luncheon sponsored by Volunteer Memphis on April 13, 2007.
Hats off to Peggy Russell, Executive Director of Stop the Madness, Inc.,
who was recognized as Adult Volunteer of the Year. The Agency of
the Year winner was Families of Incarcerated Individuals' Project
AWARE Mentoring Program. Project AWARE has already earned accredited
status by MMP for having implemented all the recommended elements of
effective practice, and Stop the Madness, Inc. is well on its way to
achieving accreditation very soon. We're proud to have such exemplary
representation from MMP and the world of mentoring at this annual event.
The Spirit of Giving Awards recognizes outstanding volunteers throughout
the region who have made exceptional contributions to the community.
Awards are presented in eight categories: media, youth, senior, small
group, large group, board member, adult, and agency.
